The third phase of the lunar cycle is the First Quarter moon. Occurring roughly a week after the New Moon, the First Quarter is also known as the Half-Moon due it being roughly 50% illuminated on the right-side of it's face. The occult symbolism of duality is apparent here. One striving for great work would do well to maintain a balance in all areas of life during this phase, as this is symbolic of the natural conflict inherent within the heart of all humans. This is the time for putting the plans made in the previous Waxing Crescent phase to the test. Surmounting obstacles and acting unwaveringly in the face of all adversity.
