Description of Death
The Death card depicts a black knight mounted atop a white steed. His skin has rotted away revealing the skull underneath and in his left hand he grasps the banner of The Mystic Rose. On the horizon the pillars of The Moon are visible with the sun setting behind them.
In the foreground, a man can be seen lying on the ground just beyond the horse; he is wearing Ermine fur, possibly signifying royalty. To the front of the horse, two children have fallen to their knees while a religious figure addresses Death. This could signify funerary rights.
